Shannon Ward has been applying the principles of learning to improve socially important behav-iors of children and adolescents with and without disabilities for 15 years. Shannon worked as a private in-home therapist providing individualized behavior analytic services and early-intensive behavior interven-tion (2004-2012), worked as an early childhood special education teacher (2010-2012), trained and worked at The New England Center for Children (2012-2018), and recently worked at The New England Center for Children in Abu Dhabi where she conducted applied research on assessment and treatment of problem behavior and teaching meaningful life skills to children and adolescents diagnosed with autism living in the United Arab Emirates (2018-2019). Shannon received a bachelor’s degree in Early Child-hood Education and Early Childhood Special Education from Saint Louis University and a master’s and doctoral degree in Behavior Analysis from Western New England University.
Shannon has conducted research in the areas of assessment and treatment of problem behavior, functional communication training, extending treatments to caregivers and caregiver training, and social validation of assessment and treatment services. Shannon serves as a sub-review committee member for the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and as a guest reviewer for Behavioral Interventions.
